Speechless,
we speak.
It's the making
mute.
Without hearing each other,
how can we listen?

Perfect~~~
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Eloquent about a phatic lack.
ReplyDeleteHave you read Mallarme, his poems of grief after the death of his child where silence is really configured into the poems?
Or what Pinter has to say about the roar of silence (and its dynamic meaning in a playscript, hence all its pauses) versus the empty set of meanings of a long diatribe that precedes it? Read THE HOMECOMING.

ReplyDeleteLaurieglynn, thanks~blessings...

Narrator, ah, that 'single/ shouted syllable/ breaking an immense silence'...this is poetry, beauty, like the single stark line defining the horizon.
Hi, Pru. Where'd you drop in from, hon? Long time no hear...
MB, thanks, glad you found something here, however barenaked :)
Twoberry, S & G! Oh, you are too hilarious. I'm sure you kept the smile all night too! (Only Barbara will tell:)
