The Home-Office...
The 'home-office' (studio/bedroom/meditation space), as is, without any tidying up! Yes, that's a thick plastic sheet on the desk for the painting that's not happening, and another one under the layers of dog blankets. See, I am like a "little ol' Italian lady in that way - with my plastic-covered furniture'! I buy it at Honest Ed's for $3./yard, what a great price - anyone'd go crazy with the stuff! Great for painters and pets. Hey, not tooo much knicker-knacker clitter-clatter on the desk; it could be cleaned up in minutes for a painting space, now couldn't it? :::Grins::: How about your workspace?

Nice dog!
ReplyDeleteShe's a sweetie - Springer Spaniel, a field dog though, so bred to run all day! She's nearly 10 years old but still acts like a puppy. And she's sooo affectionate...
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Bradpetehoops!
Lovely, airy workspace, full of light. I´m envious of your giant Apple flat screen; my 17¨inch is an old school curved one, bulky as an old TV set, I bought back in 2002 when I first moved to Spain. I, too, am a creative clutterer, but my problem is too many books to the right, to the left, underneath work desk and on all sides (in my dreams I walk up the walls and fetch books off the stacks on the ceilings, as in an Escher lithograph.
ReplyDeleteSo when I move back to California in late summer first thing I do is buy a giant computer screen so I can don´t have to squint have the time.
Thanks for this glimpse into your life, querida Brenda. You evoke so much presence I feel a real longing to meet you, which in a way proves at least one of Derrida´s oppositional logics operate between my ears!
haha... great response, John. My 2003 iMac is a greatly beloved machine that still works like a charm - its hard drive full, and wouldn't run newer software, and then the tax return and the fret and the new iMac... though my son watches movies & listens to music on the older one with its dome-shaped mechanics (it always struck me as a pregnant belly, that white half moon shape, I loved to run my hand over it).
ReplyDeleteHere's to older Macs!
Not reading too many books these days, and pressed for room in this small space, though it has happened, with a painting-in-progress and a stack of books all on the desk, along with the HPLaserjet1200 printer (that's an oldie too-but runs fabulously).
Now, for your workspace, John! Bring out the lights, the camera: Action! Encore!
